Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, where short films begin their journey to the Goya and Forqué Awards

The Benidorm-based festival strengthens its role as a platform for the promotion and professionalisation of short films on their way to Spain’s major film awards.

The Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, an international event dedicated to short films, once again places its name alongside some of the most outstanding titles in contemporary Spanish cinema.
Following the recent announcement of the 48 short films selected by the Spanish Film Academy to compete for nomination in the 40th edition of the Goya Awards —15 fiction, 18 documentary and 15 animation titles—, ten of them were part of Skyline’s 2025 edition.

Adding to this success, the José María Forqué Awards have also unveiled their nominations, with three short films from the same editionÁngulo muerto (Cristian Beteta), El cuento de una noche de verano (María Herrera) and Una cabeza en la pared (Manuel Manrique)— selected, further confirming the quality of the festival’s programming and its role as a springboard towards Spain’s most prestigious film recognitions.

The presence of these films among the nominees for both the Goya Awards and the José María Forqué Awards highlights the role of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival as a platform for visibility, growth and professional connection, consolidating its position within the Spanish and Ibero-American audiovisual landscape.

Submissions open for the 10th edition (18–25 April 2026)

The Skyline Benidorm Film Festival will celebrate its 10th edition from 18 to 25 April 2026 across several venues in Benidorm.
Submissions are now open via Festhome, Movibeta and FilmFreeway until 20 December 2025.
The festival invites filmmakers and producers to take part in this milestone edition, celebrating a decade of cinema, talent and community.

The Skyline Benidorm Film Festival is an international short film festival held annually in Benidorm.
Recognised as a Goya Awards qualifying festival since 2022, it has established itself as one of the most important short film events in Spain, thanks to its carefully curated programming, professional focus and ability to connect creators with the audiovisual industry.
In 2026, it will celebrate its 10th edition, from 18 to 25 April, featuring screenings, training activities, industry meetings and networking opportunities.
