Benidorm, March 29, 2025 – The Auditorium of the Benidorm Cultural Center hosted this evening the opening gala of the 9th Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, kicking off a week full of cinema. The venue was packed, and the audience responded enthusiastically.

The evening, hosted by Ana Conca and Marta Casielles and accompanied by live music from Aroa Blanco on piano, offered a preview of the upcoming days’ program. Among the many screenings and activities, the announcement of the Benidorm premiere of “Pequeños Calvarios”, by the Polo Brothers, stood out, arriving directly from the Málaga Festival.

One of the most special moments of the night was the presentation of the Skyliner Award to Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, a key figure in Spanish film and television. During her speech, the actress highlighted the importance of awards that bring visibility to the efforts of the audiovisual sector and defended the short film as a format with its own identity and unquestionable quality.

The award presentation was full of emotion, as it was her friend Rocío Saiz who, as a surprise, handed it to her. Together, accompanied by a group of close friends, they closed the tribute by singing the song “¿Quién piensa en ti?”, in a moment that was both intimate and electrifying.

The gala concluded with the world premiere of (No)Body, the new short film by Sonia Bautista-Alarcón, presented by the director along with part of the film’s technical and artistic team.
With this emotional opening, the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival has launched its ninth edition with energy. The festival has just begun, and over the next few days, Benidorm will become the epicenter of the best short-form cinema.
