What is the Shortpitch Competition?

Shortpitch is a prominent activity dedicated to the audiovisual short film industry. This competition seeks projects in the development or pre-production phase, including those that have received previous public and/or private funding. From the submitted projects, a maximum of 12 works will be selected and presented to a jury during the 8th edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, scheduled from April 13 to April 20, 2023.

Requirements for Participation

To participate in the Shortpitch competition for short films at the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival 2024, it is a prerequisite that at least 50% of the filming takes place in Benidorm. Additionally, the production of the short film must be completed before the next edition of the festival, scheduled for March 2025. The winning project will be responsible for premiering its short film during the 9th edition of the festival in 2025. Diversity of genres is valued, as both fiction and documentary projects are accepted, and the theme is entirely free.

Registration Period

The registration period for this competition opens on January 22, marking the beginning of the opportunity to submit projects. However, participants should note that the deadline for registration is February 29, 2024, making it crucial to complete the process within this period.

Selection Process

Regarding the selection process, the festival’s selection committee will choose a maximum of 12 projects to participate in the final pitch. During this process, project representatives will present their proposals to the jury, composed of industry professionals carefully selected by the festival’s management. This jury will be responsible for awarding the prize for the best pitch about a project, and their decision will be final.

Prize

The prize for the best pitch about a project is valued at approximately €13,300. Rental and service companies from the Valencian Community will make their equipment, work, and services available to the winner.

We look forward to discovering the gems of short films that will emerge within the framework of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival.
