Benidorm is preparing to host a new edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, which will take place from March 29 to April 5, 2025. This Tuesday, the official festival poster, created by renowned artist Carlos Corredera, was unveiled at the Benidorm City Hall.
The event was attended by Beatriz Hernández, Festival Director, and Jaime Jesús Pérez, Councilor for Culture, who shared details about this edition and the festival’s significance in the city’s cultural agenda.
The poster unveiled today reflects the unique style of Carlos Corredera, an artist with a distinguished career known for his ability to convey emotions through visual art. The design evokes the connection between the sea, light, and cinema—elements that are part of the DNA of both Skyline and Benidorm.
With a program full of screenings, activities, and networking events, the festival once again promises to be a meeting point for professionals and film enthusiasts.
About the Poster and Carlos Corredera
The poster design for this edition is the work of Carlos Corredera, a multidisciplinary Valencian artist renowned for his contributions to painting, illustration, and graphic design.
The poster for the ninth edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival 2025 captures the vibrant and creative essence of the festival.
With a palette of warm and purple tones evoking Benidorm’s iconic sunsets, the artwork features a stylized female figure holding a film reel and an umbrella, symbolizing protection and creativity under the cinematic sky. In the background, buildings and birds subtly reference the city’s urban and coastal landscape, seamlessly integrating the connection between Benidorm and cinema as a space of freedom and expression.
Opening of Registrations for the Shortpitch Contest
The presentation also announced the opening of registrations for one of the festival’s most prominent sections, the Shortpitch contest, an activity dedicated to the short film industry.
The contest is aimed at national directors and production companies with projects in the development or pre-production stage, including those that have previously received public and/or private funding.
Among the requirements, at least 50% of the filming must take place in Benidorm, and the production must be completed before the next edition of the festival in March-April 2026.
The prize is valued at approximately €17,000 and will feature the collaboration of various rental and service companies, offering the winner equipment, labor, and services to facilitate the short film’s production.
