Havanera

Gerard has an unfulfilled promise: to send his mother images of Cuba so she can see whether, despite his father’s illness, they might be able to visit him. Wandering around the island his father constantly evoked in songs, he wonders what reasons have led him to move so far away, to the other side of the Atlantic. As he films, he tries to invoke his father through the wounds of the city itself, but the images the camera returns to him remind him that perhaps it is already too late.
