Ángel de la Cruz
In addition to the many international awards earned by the projects he has written and directed, he received the Goya Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the animated feature Wrinkles (Arrugas, 2012, directed by Ignacio Ferreras). This was the fourth Goya awarded to him by the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, following the Best Animated Feature awards for The Living Forest (El bosque animado, 2001) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (El sueño de una noche de San Juan, 2005), both written and directed by him, as well as Wrinkles (2012).
Over the years, he has developed his own screenwriting technique and methodology, which he has refined and taught through numerous master's programmes, workshops, seminars, and courses at universities and film schools around the world. He brought this approach together in his screenwriting book The Paper Staircase (La escalera de papel), published in 2016.
