El Kala

Juan Carlos Estavillo, also known as “El Kala,” is a survivor. He is one of those individuals whom heroin turned invisible, yet he fights against the pain every day to continue doing the one thing that brings him happiness: going to Calle Laurel to collect dishes and take out the garbage from the bars in exchange for whatever people are willing to give, allowing him to socialize with others.
