JESSICA is a 14-year-old teenager from a marginalized background. Her father’s abuse since childhood has made her a troubled, irritable girl who has built a tough shell, even with her younger sister, ALMA, an 8-year-old with whom she shares a relationship full of hostility. Due to a misunderstanding, JESSICA is forced to take her sister along to collect food from Cáritas on the day of San Juan. Through this journey with ALMA, JESSICA realizes that she doesn’t want to become like her father and begins to treat her little sister with love instead of violence.
